Check out this ADORABLE "Time Flies/Just Plane Fun" 1st birthday party that my relative, Brittany, did for her son Daxton. I have never seen this theme before and all the special touches she added were so creative and fun, you can tell that Brittany put a lot of work into creating the perfect party.
First, here are the flight ticket invitations and envelopes made out of real city maps.

Boarding Pass Invitations: Ordered from etsy
Map Envelopes
Brittany found the inspirtation online, but made the envelopes herself. She asked all of her friends/family who were AAA members to maps of her city. Then she took a regular envelope and pulled it apart to make a template. Then she folded and glued the maps to form the envelopes. If you prefer to buy, here's an Etsy resource.·
Welcome / Exit Signs
She used MS Word to make the big letters, then taped the printed letters on the window and traced it out onto the color printer paper
Baggage Claim sign which hung over the Favor Table (such a cute idea)

Candy Airplanes: Idea came from here. She made new gum wrappers (see design attached) with the same airplane graphic as the invitations. The plane is pulling a banner that says “Happy 1st Birthday Daxton”
Pilot Wings
She found a wing graphic online and then added each child’s name to the center
· Each wing was printed on card stock and she glued a locking pin on the back. She designed the “DAX Airlines Pilot” table tent using MS Word and used a hole punch to attach the wings.
Party Hats

Signature Biscoff Cookies (purchased at Wal-mart)

Signs were as follows:

How cute is Baby Daxton? He's one of those babies that I get so excited about whenever there are new pics on facebook. Such a cutie!

Daxton’s Birthday Day Shirt
Daxton's Mom, Brittany, designed his shirt using the same airplane from the invitations and her sister embroidered it on an embroidery machine.

The Birthday Cake
Landing strip tablecloth
She found the idea here, but she made her own using a plastic table cloth white medical tape to make the stripes.

The Exit Sign
Brittany says, "I was going to make an airport security xray machine but ran out of time. It was just going to be a piece of wood painted with a skeleton body hanging (no head) and a whole cut out for the kids to stick their face through for pictures. I bought a flat skeleton during Halloween from the Dollar Store."

This is such a CUTE idea!!! I may have to use this! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask a crazy question? On these printables, is there a way to easily change the text? Please don't laugh :)
ReplyDeleteHey tablerbunch...Not that I know of but you could probalby phenagle (sp?) something using paint where you just copy some white space and paste it over the name and type over it. Let me know if that works for you. You can always crop the name out too using a basic editing software...I love picasa (free from google)
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that?? I hopped over from Tatertots and Jello:) I'm your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Blessed Weekend
Jenn, I totally agree, everything was simply adorable. My friend had a airplane party too, and her son was the captain, it was so cute. The airstrip table cloth was sooo cool. Great idea.
